About the photographer
Based in Tokyo, Japan, Tsutomu Fujita ("Tsutomu" pronounces like "two-tom") became a wedding photographer after working for six years as a photojournalist and multimedia producer.
Born and raised in Fukuoka in the southern part of Japan Tsutomu Fujita moved to Seattle in 1996 and later to California where he obtained a degree in photojournalism from San Jose State University. Since 2000, he has worked for a number of known media companies including Arizona Republic, San Jose Mercury News, Kansas City Star, Napa Valley Register, Associated Press and Bloomberg News. Those experiences polished his way to of approaching people and his techniques to capture fortuitous moments photographically.
Documentary wedding photography
Tsutomu's documentary style caters to clients that prefer a more unobtrusive and journalistic approach to wedding photography but would still like some romantic elegant portraiture. On your special day, he works tirelessly to make a complete record of the unfolding events. He is always discrete and never interrupts the natural flow of the drama. He incorporates his editorial photography background into creating images full of rich saturated colors, energy and motion.
